Isanti County Dispatch received a distress call on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at approximately 10:29 p.m., regarding a single vehicle rollover near the intersection of County Road 6 NW and Blackfoot Street NW in Springvale Township. Deputies from Isanti County arrived on the scene without delay. They saw a terrible scene that broke their hearts: the passenger was forcibly thrown out of the car, she stopped breathing and her pulse stopped. Deputies and firefighters from the Dalbo Fire Department took quick action to save her life in a last-ditch effort. The young lady, later identified as Lily Wilson, a 34-year-old resident of Cambridge, Minnesota, sadly died from her injuries at the scene of the crash despite her bravery.
Fortunately, the driver of the car made it through the terrifying event unscathed, but not without serious injuries. The driver was transported by ambulance to the hospital as soon as possible, where they provided medical assistance for injuries that, although serious, were eventually determined to be non-life-threatening.
