Lin-Manuel Miranda has been added to the cast of the highly anticipated fantasy-action series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. In the series, he will be seen as Hermes, the gods’ messenger. Lin-Manuel Miranda is a 42-year-old highly recognized theatrical artist, composer, director, songwriter, and actor who made his acting debut in the 1996 film Clayton’s Friends as Pete. Percy Jackson and the Olympians are set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2024. The fantasy series was inspired by famous American novelist Rick Riordan’s critically acclaimed five-novel series of the same name.
Since the original teaser was posted on September 11, 2022, fans have been eager to see how Season 1 of the series would develop. Fans are even more ecstatic now that actor Lin-Manuel Miranda has joined the ensemble. Lin-Manuel Miranda is well-recognized for portraying Alexander Hamilton in the 2020 film Hamilton. His other notable film roles are Jack in Mary Poppins Returns in 2018 and Vivo in Vivo in 2021. Miranda has also appeared in many television shows, most notably as Ruben Marcado in Do No Harm, Lee Scoresby in His Dark Materials, and Gizmoduck / Sheriff Marshall Cabrera in DuckTales. Among his other television series credits include The Sopranos, Sesame Street, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, BoJack Horseman, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and others.
Tick, Tick…Boom!, a widely regarded and popular 2021 film starring Andrew Garfield, marked the actor’s directorial debut. He has also composed music for films such as Disney’s Moana, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Encanto, and a few more. Lin-Manuel Miranda has been in a number of renowned plays over the years, including In the Heights, Merrily We Roll Along, West Side Story, 21 Chump Street, Hamilton, Tick, Tick… Boom!, Les Misérables, Freestyle Love Supreme, and a few more.
