Lindsay Lohan Had the ‘Groolest’ Hair at the Mean Girls Premiere — Here’s the Exclusive Scoop on Her Look

Lindsay Lohan made the most epic surprise at Mean girls premiere of the musical film on January 8, and as for our excitement for her presence: there is no limit!

The one and only Cady Heron hit the carpet — where she told PEOPLE exclusively that she “hopes” to be a cool mom — in an Alexandre Vauthier gown with cutouts and soft, glamorous waves created by Danielle Priano.

Priano says being invited to work with the 37-year-old star for the event was an “exciting moment”.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Lindsay for several years [but] being trusted to create her look for such a momentous event was incredibly exciting and rewarding,” says the hair expert.

Priano puts his fans for the OG movie at 10 out of 10 (“Original Mean girls it’s iconic and holds a special place in pop culture,” she says.) So it’s only fitting that Cady Heron was in Prian’s head when she created the look.

“The inspiration for her beautifully styled soft waves revolved around channeling Hollywood glamor with a softer, sultry touch, perfectly tailored to complement Lindsay’s dress. While there may not be direct nods to her original character, the essence of sophistication and elegance reflects Lindsay’s evolution — in a way, it reflects the personal evolution of the character Cady in the film,” she shares.

Creating the look required “meticulous” steps, which Priano breaks down here.

First, she brushed Lohan’s damp hair with the Mermaid Hair Everyday Brush. She then applied SexyHair Big Altitude Mousse from star roots to mid-lengths to create a foundation for volume and hold, then blow-dried with the Mermaid Hair Blow Dry Brush, “working the roots upwards to lift the hair.”

Next, Priano parted her hair and applied 20-inch Hidden Crown Seamless Clip-in Extensions in Light Auburn to the areas where she wanted more volume. She says the SexyHair Powder Play provided the perfect amount of “grip and texture” to “give the extensions something to hold onto.”

In addition to creating uniform waves, the Mermaid Hair OG Pro Waver was also “awesome [for] fullness,” says Priano. Then she softened them with a blow-dry brush.

“Finishing touches with SexyHair Spray and Stay hairspray ensured the hairstyle held its shape effortlessly,” explains the pro, adding: “To finish off the look, you can use a small brush to tuck one side behind the ear to lift the hairstyle for more feel red carpet like tonight on Lindsay!”

It took Prian approximately two hours to create the look. He describes the vibe in the room as “upbeat” and “filled with laughter.”

“It felt like a reunion of old friends — lots of jokes and shared excitement for Lindsay’s moment on the red carpet. There was a sense of anticipation as we prepared for this special night,” says Priano.
