Lindsey Vonn Reveals She’s Preparing to Undergo Knee Replacement Surgery

Lindsey Vonn is preparing for knee replacement surgery.

The former Olympic skier, 38, who has had multiple knee surgeries since retiring in 2019, revealed her medical information in an Instagram Q&A on Sunday when one person asked: “What was your last procedure you had? I was told the only option was a TKA.”

“I recently had prep surgery for a knee replacement,” Vonn replied as she shared a photo of her knee wrapped in a surgical bandage on her Instagram Story. “I’m hoping to have my next surgery this spring.”

In 2019, Vonn underwent surgery to repair her torn lateral collateral ligament, LCL, but has continued to have problems with her knee ever since.

“I’ve been dealing with all the damage in my skiing career and trying to manage the pain as best I can,” Vonn wrote on Instagram in July after revealing she was undergoing yet another surgery.

“I hope this operation is a big step that will help me in the long run. We still have work to do, and most likely another operation, but I hope this will help me at least a little,” she added.

“Trying to soak in hot water…” she wrote alongside a photo of herself trying out one suggested method in a tub of clean water.

“How worried should I be?!” Vonn added jokingly.
