Louis Sebastian Theroux was born on May 20, 1970 in Singapore to parents Paul Theroux and Anna Castle. Paul, his father, was a travel writer and novelist from the United States. His older brother, Marcel, is a novelist and TV host, while his cousin, Justin Theroux, is an actor and screenwriter. He is the nephew of essayist Peter Theroux and novelist Alexander Theroux. He is of French-Canadian, Italian and English descent. Louis enrolled at Westminster School, where he met his dear friends Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish from the beginning of their friendship, which continues to this day. He then attended Magdalen College, Oxford, where he focused on history.

Career
After graduation, he started working for Metro Silicon Valley, in 1992 he joined Spy magazine, and in 1993 he became a reporter for Michael Moore’s TV series Nation. He received this recognition only once, for Outstanding Informational Series. Anyway, the bad news is that he didn’t get this year’s recognition. In 1998, he created the story Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, which ran until the end of 2000. This story was published in arrangements one, two and three. He joined the BBC in 2003 and soon after began producing documentaries on American subjects. It was published as The Call of the Weird: Travels in American Subcultures. The story in this book is mostly about the time he spent in the United States.
In 2002, the Royal Television Society in the United Kingdom named him the best presenter for the first time in his career. Despite this, he was not awarded this year’s award; he received this recognition in 2010. Furthermore, he produced a program called Louis, Martin and Michael, which focused on his quest to interview Michael Jackson.
