Love Island returns to ITV2 and sees a new cast of islanders join the mansion and get to know each other. However, fans were left confused by the new format, in which young Mitchel joins two new girls, Jess and Ruchee, by arriving at the mansion early.
The change of format surprised many spectators, as usually the first five women arrive at the villa and get to know each other before meeting the boys. On Twitter, one person wrote: “no kuzzz [what] going on, I’ve just adjusted and I’m confused about the format.”

Another added: “What’s going on?? A guy just behind 2 girls???” A third person tweeted: “This [expletive] I don’t know why I’m here for that, but why are there three girls and two boys and now Maya is here, I’m confused.”
“Wait why are boys and girls mixed together,” another asked.

The surprise appearance is the result of a change in the rules of the ITV2 show, because while islanders are paired with a person of their choice by standard, this year the public will decide determine which couple will be the couple in the opening episode.
Voting runs from Thursday to Friday, just days before the series premieres. Publicly matched couples include Jess and George, Ruchee and Mehdi, Catherine and Andre, Molly and Mitchel and Ella and Tyrique – and plenty of fans took to Twitter to joke about the pairing. Pointing out that each pair shares some similarities in appearance, one person wrote: “Why is everyone paired with their twins?” Another replied: “The British public loves symmetry.”

The newcomers revealed what they wanted from a new love, and host Maya Jama asked them what type of person they were. Ella told Maya, “She looks wise, I mean tall with nice teeth.” Ruchee added: “His height, fashion sense and someone I can bring home to introduce to my family because I’m very family-oriented.”
Jess joked: “My guy is a handsome guy with turkey teeth!” The announcement that the Islanders would be working with them was announced by the public, and Ella said nervously, “I don’t know what to expect!”

While some of the islanders seemed content with their relationship, others weren’t so sure, and Jess and Ruchee forged ahead when Maya asked the islanders to get in touch if they felt that way. I find myself with a new life partner.
Who is the new bomb of Love Island Zachariah?
The final moments of the episode welcomed Zachariah to the show, who spoke about his personality, telling ITV: “I’m a very laid back person and I’m totally me 100 per cent of the time. I am. quite approachable and never had a hard time making friends, I enjoy being interested in people.”

He added: “I believe in love at first sight. I think you can feel people’s energy as soon as you meet them. Love isn’t something you choose, it’s what happens when you meet them. it happens. I won’t.” I’m not saying I’m closed off, but I like really natural and organic things.”
