Yes, this is my first performance in the UAE and I am very nervous. Well, this happens to me before every show. We staged the play in Lahore two years ago and the response was fantastic. It’s gratifying to perform in a place where they understand the language. What a joy to perform.
She added,
The character I play is Nanhi ki nani, an outcast living on the fringes of society. She depends on any mohalla for survival [community] People gave it to her, and all she had was her pillow—a pillowcase, actually, that contained her belongings. No one cares about her. No one knows her name. But she has this Akade [attitude] About her. She is both pathetic and ridiculous. It’s great to play characters written by writers like Ismat Chugtai and Saadat Hassan Manto. “

Facts/Trivia
- In an interview, she was asked whether she prefers to act in TV series or plays. She responded,
absolute quantity [on TV] Kill quality. This seems more like a marketing ploy than art. It’s all about TRP [television ratings point] I can not understand. Why isn’t this the standard for the outside world? In metropolitan India, more and more people are watching Pakistani serials as they not only have better stories and performances but are not stretched unnecessarily. However, it must be noted that there are some good stories related to the girl child and other social issues, albeit in a small proportion. So I prefer theater, mostly working with children, writing stories, hosting storytelling events, and running theater workshops with the Junon Theater. “
She added,
I’ve worked with great filmmakers, even though it wasn’t a huge amount of work experience. The reason I was offered these roles was because they wanted an actress, not just a face. I had the opportunity to work with Anurag Kashyap, Govind Nihalini and Mani Ratnam. Working with them, you’ll have a clear understanding of what’s expected of you, and you’ll be there because you deserve the role. “
- Loveleen became pregnant with her first child in her 30s. She talked about this in an interview. she says,
I had a baby at age 38, more because I was marrying late than to further my career. I always knew I wanted a child. Doctors warned us about the risks of late pregnancy, and we were prepared for any eventuality. These nine months were filled with fear and trepidation. We agonize over every decision—whether professional or personal—to make sure everything is absolutely right. “
- She won the Indian Television Academy Award in 2018.
