Her musical journey began when she sang with the Argentinian singer and actress Manuela Bravo and the band Soul Montana. Her parents insisted that she and her brother Joaquin form a duet and sing together. The band was formed in 1978. During a trip to Spain, they met the romantic musician Luis Aguilé, who asked them for a tape and recommended them to Sony BMG Music Entertainment, the current CBS record company, under which they began their musical career. - On July 2, 1996, Lucia and her brother opened the Pimpinela Children’s Home (Hogar Pimpinela para la Niñez), a non-profit organization that provides care for underprivileged Argentinian children. The organization’s land was donated by the Buenos Aires Provincial Government. The home was sponsored by Gloria Estefan (American singer-songwriter) and helped by Geraldine Chaplin (actress).
- On October 22, 2006, during a tour in Zacatecas, Mexico, she suddenly had high blood pressure in her left leg, left hand and left arm. She was taken to the Mexican Red Cross for treatment. The next day, her leg recovered, but her left arm and left hand did not, so she had to perform with a bandage. She was diagnosed with cerebral ischemia, but the results of the examination showed no brain damage. After that, she performed another performance in Piedmont on January 14, where she collapsed, but there were no major complications.
