Ludacris Feels Like 'Superman' After Drinking Fresh Alaskan Glacier Water Despite Fan Concern over Bacteria

Ludacris is addressing fans’ concerns about his health after posting a video on social media of him drinking fresh water from an Alaskan glacier without first purifying it.

The 46-year-old rapper (born Christopher Bridges) was in Alaska to perform at the state fair on Friday, August 23, and did some sightseeing during the trip.

In a video posted on his social media accounts, including Instagram, on August 26, the “Act a Fool” rapper climbed down a glacier and proceeded to drink fresh water from the spot.

“Listen man, half the world’s glaciers are here in Alaska, I couldn’t come here and just have a show,” Fast and furious the star began. “I’ve never tasted fresh glacier water in my life, and this is the first time, let’s go.”

He continued to descend the glacier and collect water in a water bottle, looking at the camera before taking a sip. “Oh my god,” he said after drinking, running off camera.

“Water 💧 so good it tastes like GOD made it. Well, because he is 🙏🏾 ❄️,” the video caption read.

Ludacris drank the water on the spot without purifying the bacteria from it, causing concern from followers and friends in the comments.

The National Park Service (NPS) advises the public: “Never drink water from a natural source that you have not purified, even if the water looks clean. Water in a stream, river, or lake may look clean, but it can still be full of bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause waterborne diseases such as cryptosporidiosis or giardiasis. It is essential that you purify natural water.”

After collecting water from a selected natural source, a person should filter it and then treat it by boiling or using chemicals to destroy parasites, bacteria and viruses.
