Luke discussed his experience as a new father with Steph and guests Sara Davies, Sayeeda Warsi, and Denise Van Outen on Thursday’s Channel 4 episode. But when it came to the birth, Luke was open about his worry that his daughter wouldn’t survive after going through a “traumatic” experience.

The baby is on the other side of the room, you know, there’s beeping going on, there’s sort of – she’s being resuscitated, Luke recalled the terrifying incident to his co-stars, Steph and company. The baby is entirely white. It’s Strictly Come Dancing Luke continued, and Sara shook her head in horror at the awful story he was relating.

“And my wife, who has just given birth and done an incredible job, is looking at me and asking, ‘Is the baby okay?’” he continued. Is she alright? But in an almost joyful tone, “Is she okay?”

My wife was looking at me for support while I was sort of like gazing at this and thinking, “I’m seeing my daughter die right at this very moment.”My mind was just thinking, “Surely these things happen and you’ve got the best people on it,” Luke continued.

The comedian acknowledged that he sought Steph’s assistance when he was in need of direction on how to handle the circumstance. What is the greatest thing I can do here, I believe I messaged you (Steph),” he added. “That is, simply maintain your composure and let the folks carry on as normal.

Within five minutes, my wife had sort of pinked up, and within seven minutes, she had begun sobbing. I simply turned to my wife and said, “Yeah, she’s fine, it’s okay.”

The comedian said, “And in just 11 minutes I was able to go over and see her and I just sort of said to her [in an emotional voice], “Can I hold her?” They responded, “Yeah, she’s yours,”

Denise, Steph, Sayeeda, and Sara all uttered “awww”s in support of Luke as he disclosed the story’s happy conclusion.

When she was born, the Channel 4 actor wrote a touching and emotional message for his Instagram fans to share about the painful ordeal.
