But Littler appears to have briefly turned his back on Heta as he celebrated before the darts game ended in an argument between the two.

The two were at odds in the early stages, matching each other until 4-4.

Both players averaged over 120 at one stage, and the first five legs lasted just SEVEN minutes

But Heta stepped up as he won the next four legs, racing to an 8-4 lead.

Littler managed to make it 9-8 as he attempted an incredible comeback.

However, he missed several check-outs while also raging over a dart that failed to land – punching the air in anger.

And finally the opportunity came for Het to finish the job and seal his place in the semi-finals of the UK Open.

However, Littler appeared to ignore the Australian as he celebrated his victory and instead focused on packing his darts.

Littler finally turned after his opponent approached him and gave him a warm handshake and a smile.

And the two engaged in a relatively long conversation before leaving the stage in a sign that there was no bad feeling.

Littler took to Instagram afterward to reveal how much he enjoyed the game, despite the loss.

He posted: “I’m disappointed I didn’t make the quarters but it was a great match with Damon. I enjoy darts and I’m just grateful for everything.”

But fans did react to the apparent incident, with one saying: “What a game from both of them but Littler needs to sort out his attitude when he loses.”

Another stated, “Littler needs to show a little more humility in defeat, literally not even acknowledging Heta until he comes.”

One noted: “Littler turning his back on his opponent every time he loses is not a great look.”

Speaking after the victory, Heta said: “I was for it, sometimes I feel that way in training, so I know that feeling.

“Going up against Luke Littler, who has made the media crazy and darts crazy – I love him to bits and it’s a huge boost for darts.

“I know what I’m up against with these Premier League players, they’re the guys I have to beat and if I keep doing that regularly, who knows, maybe one day I’ll be a top player!

“I have a game [to win the tournament]I’ve shown that in previous results, so there’s no reason I can’t do the job.”

Former world champion Mark Webster added: “It’s one of the best games I’ve ever seen. They were in it from the beginning.

“Damon, to his credit, he wouldn’t feel great if he missed a darts match. He deserved to win that game.

“The eleventh leg was a turning point for Heta with Luke’s missed pairs. It took him too long. We never see Luke taking his time.”
