In 2011, Lukman made his acting debut in the Bengali film Khondo Golpo 1971, directed by Badrul Anam Saud and premiered at the Bangladesh Liberation War Celluloid Festival in Kolkata. In 2014, he made his Malayalam debut in the film Dayom Panthrandum, playing the role of Red.

- While auditioning for a role in the Malayalam film Dayom Panthand, Lukman received a condition that he could act in the film only if he brought his own car, as the role required one. So Luckman rented a car for a month and learned to drive in about two weeks.
- In 2016, Lukman served as the cinematographer for the British film “From Freetown TL”.
- Lukman is actively involved in various social works and provides support to those in need. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he raised funds and provided medicine and food packages to people who could not afford basic facilities.

- Lukman was active in stage plays at school and college but never thought of becoming an actor until he met a filmmaker from Kozhikode who was looking for new faces to star in One of his movies, so he decided to give an audition.

- After Lukman decided to pursue a career in acting, he moved to Kochi from Malappuram to audition for films and get professional acting opportunities. He took odd jobs, such as working in a call center and a medical shop, to meet his daily expenses.

Even now, I’m still nervous – despite Java’s popularity. Cinema is only for the winners. I feel like no one stands with the losers. I might even go to the bay tomorrow. Even though there are four movies to be released, it’s unpredictable. There are no guarantees to anyone. It’s easier to detach yourself from a film’s successes and failures. “
- Apart from playing the role of Suran in the Malayalam film Kakshi: Amini Pila, Lukman also lent his voice to a song in the film.
- After Lukman and Jumima’s wedding photos went viral on social media in February 2022, Lukman was repeatedly body-shamed and attacked because of his skin color. In an interview, Lukman expressed his dissatisfaction with being attacked for the color of his skin in wedding photos, saying:
The day after the wedding, I was busy shooting for the film ‘Thallumala’. So by the time such an incident is discovered it is already too late. Body shaming is a painful thing. There are deep-seated errors in people’s minds that lead them to think this way. Changing this situation will take time. I used to joke and laugh like this. But now I know this is wrong. “
