Screen Rant: Congrats on the movie! Has your life gotten crazier since it came out?

Mabel Cadena: Yes, a little, but in a good way.So amazing [to see] To all the fans around the movie, [and] Their stories. It’s amazing.

I saw in the interview that you were excited about the opportunity to represent Mexican and Central American culture. Have you heard the reaction to the film?

Mabel Cadena: Yes.This was the main challenge in the film and [a] Main points [for] Fans were attracted to the film. To prepare for this role, you learn how to hold your breath for long periods of time. Can you remember the longest time you spent filming a scene underwater? Have you ever had to go underwater for five minutes, or anything like that?

Mabel Cadena: No, no.My first immersion was about 30 seconds, the same day I [was able to do] Six minutes and thirty-five seconds.Training is great because in the same day I can make a big difference [from] My first immersion into my second immersion.I’m very competitive, so my coach Chris told me, “Kate Winslet holds the record, so if you want to be a winner, you have a lot to learn.” I’m really tired of Kate Winslet [at one point]but now I don’t have time to record it better.

Do you have a favorite filming experience, or your favorite scene from the movie?

Mabel Cadena: I had a lot of moments but I think my first day underwater [stands out]. I shot a lot of scenes by myself throughout the day. When I damaged a machine, I thought it was fighting for the ship; I think that was my first scene. It was such a great day because Ryan told me, “Mabel, I can swim with you if you want.” [I was like]”No, Ryan, I’m pretty cool here, so don’t worry.”

this [whole] I was really excited that day because I felt really comfortable underwater; I really enjoyed working underwater. This is my element.I asked the assistant to record the screen [so I could] Seeing my face, my eyes, my emotions and processing very specific things underwater. I think this is my favorite part; the first day.

Finally, congratulations to Namora for surviving the movie! Did you always know your character would survive? I know you can’t say anything specific, but have you been on the phone with anyone from Marvel recently?

Mabel Cadena: I assure you, I know nothing about the future. I promise you! I swear. The last time I called Victoria, I was so nervous about what she would say. Victoria just said, “Hey, have fun, rest, take a vacation.” She didn’t say anything about the future, so I don’t know what to expect.I hope [a lot of things] This happened because I really wanted to continue playing Namora in the future.
