Madonna has paid tribute to her late brother Christopher with a moving visit to his grave in Michigan, less than a month after he died of cancer.
The pop superstar brought daughter Lourdes with her as she documented her trip to Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin, Michigan on her Instagram Stories on Friday, October 25.
“Homecoming………….,” she captioned the top of a photo of Christopher’s green marble headstone, which bore his name, date of birth and date of death.

Madonna, 66, also shared photos of the red roses she left behind, as well as a picture of her kneeling at what appears to be her mother’s grave. The star’s mother, Madonna Fortin Ciccone, died in 1963 at the age of 30, when the star was only 5 years old.
Lourdes, 28, also posed for a photo with her grandmother’s tombstone, and Madonna shared a video of Levon Henry playing Duke Ellington’s “Single Petal of a Rose” on the saxophone.
In another emotional clip, the Grammy winner shared an old, black-and-white snap of herself kneeling at her mother’s grave as Christopher looked on, captioning it: “Life is a circle.”
The “Like a Virgin” singer also visited her grandmother’s house while in her native Michigan, posing in front of the house and writing: “When I was little I thought my house was a Nanoos fairy!”

Madonna’s brother Christopher Ciccone died at the age of 63, less than 2 years after the death of his brother Anthony at 66.
Christopher died on October 4 at the age of 63. He and Madonna shared a close bond as they worked together for most of her career. He was a fashion designer and creative consultant for his sister, and was also an interior design specialist, shoe designer, painter and memoirist.
Two days after his death, Madonna paid heartfelt tribute to her late brother, writing: “He was the closest man I’ve been for so long. It’s hard to explain our relationship, but it came from the understanding that we are different and that society will hardly afford us to disrespect the status quo.”

“We held hands and danced through the madness of our childhood,” she continued. “Dance was actually a kind of superglue that held us together. Discovering dance in our small Midwestern town saved me, and then my brother came along and it saved him too.”
The star said that although they had a difficult few years and “didn’t speak for a while”, they got back together when Christopher fell ill.
“There will never be anyone like him. I know he’s dancing somewhere. 💔”, she wrote.
