Decision Day is approaching for Michael.
Get a sneak peek at this week’s episode in a PEOPLE exclusive Married at first sightThe 38-year-old tells his new wife Chloe that he would have some reservations if Decision Day was the following day.
When Chloe, a 39-year-old senior director of development, asks what he would say the most important day is tomorrow, he replies: “Well, I would say I feel like we’re going in a positive direction towards a yes.”

He then goes into detail about what it would take for him to feel confident about saying “yes” to continuing their marriage.
“What I should say is, it seems like we’ve not only solidified and created an emotional connection, which I think we have, but we’ve maintained it and progressed it to a degree, not just where I would say like, ‘I want to continue dating you. ‘ because it’s not dating, but I want to continue in this marriage, which I think is a significant level,” he explains. “That’s what I would say I need.”
Chloe senses that her husband is actually holding back his true feelings, saying, “I think maybe I’m hearing a little bit that if decision day was tomorrow, maybe you feel like it’s not.”
“I would feel like I don’t have enough information,” Michael explains, adding, “Thank you for being honest about that.”

MAFS: Chloe struggles with her sex appeal to Michael because of his ‘fashionable personality’ (Exclusive)
Michael’s comments come after Chloe admitted earlier this season that she needed some time to herself.
“I was thinking about just taking the next few days to be home [my animals]”, she shared then. “It was go, go, go. I feel like everything is happening so fast that we don’t really get a chance to just process.”
“That’s true,” Michael said, agreeing with his wife as she continued to explain the reasons behind her decision.
“Being together all the time – we don’t have a chance to think. We don’t get a chance to feel it,” Chloe explained. “And I’m a deeply introverted person who needs a lot of alone time and a lot of silence to feel like I’m listening to my needs.”

She believed they needed the time apart to “give us a chance to take a deep breath” – but Michael had his doubts.
“I’m a little surprised that Chloe will go home and spend time with her animals,” admitted Michael in the confessional, who was left at the altar by an unidentified bride who went cold at the beginning of this season.
“I want her to know, though, that I support whatever she feels is best for her, but I can’t help but wonder if there’s something bothering Chloe,” he continued. “Like, ‘Oh okay, wait a minute . Don’t you want to hang out with me? Don’t you want to be with me?’ All these things creep into my mind.”
