Magnolia Network Stars Gray and Mike Benko Separated Last Year: Report

Gray Benko and Mike Benko, stars of the Magnolia Network series Happy to be home with the Banksthey reportedly broke up.

The estranged couple have been separated since last spring, TMZ reported earlier this month.

PEOPLE reached out to Gray and Mike for comment, but they did not immediately respond.

The couple shares two children, daughter Farris and son Charlie.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Mike left the home they shared on the said separation date. Court documents say they separated in April 2023.

Gray requested a Separate Support and Maintenance Order, the outlet reports. If approved, she could receive spousal support without a divorce.

According to court documents, Gray hopes the parties will be able to negotiate a settlement agreement to resolve issues in their marriage and separation, TMZ reports.

In March 2023, PEOPLE shared a sneak peek at the trailer for their then-upcoming home design series, which debuted the following month.

“Summerville is full of historic homes and we’re committed to preserving that charm,” Gray said in the recording while discussing their hometown in South Carolina. “Some of my ideas are crazy,” she added, smiling as the video cut to shots of vivid pink, purple and blue-painted rooms.

Gray handled the design in the homes, while Mike handled tasks like painting and carpentry.

They also included the family in the series with an appearance by Gray’s father, a performer affectionately known as “Grumpy”.

“Gray’s dad Grumpy grumpily oversees all our projects,” Mike explained at the time.

In front of something Happy to be home with the Banks‘ premiere date, the mother of two shared a sweet post on Instagram thanking the Magnolia Network as well as PEOPLE for the opportunity to share her story.

“My reaction to being in People magazine versus my kids’ reaction to being in People magazine. Sound on for full effect,” she captioned a video of herself flipping through the pages of a magazine.

As Gray read an article that featured her family’s accomplishments, her daughter quipped, “Please go!”

“All joking aside, this was one of the most surreal moments of my life. I honestly have no words. Thanks so much to @people, @magnolianetwork, @joannagaines and @chipgaines for featuring us in this very special issue! Counting down the days until our final premiere this Sunday, April 9th ​​at 8p/7c on @magnolianetwork !” she added.
