Class Maharashtra 5.8 no drop rule revoked

Maharashtra Exams 2024: According to reports, the Maharashtra School Education and Sports Department has revoked the no-fail policy for class 5 and class 8 students. According to reports, schools in Maharashtra will now be able to conduct annual examinations for students.

According to the government’s resolution, students taking the 5th and 8th grade exams must secure at least 35% marks to clear the annual exams. According to the decision, the exams will be held in the second week of April 2024.

Those who fail in one or more subjects can appear for Vidarbha region which will be held in the second week of June. For the rest of the state, however, the Class 5 and Class 8 departmental exams will be held in the first week of June.

The state government amended the Right to Education Act, 2009 in line with the central government’s guidelines in June. According to the change, students will be classified in the same class if they do not pass the 5th and 8th grade exams.

Questions for class 5 and 8

Maharashtra Class 5 questions for each subject will be 50 marks. The oral exam is worth 10 points. The exams for the 8th grade exams will carry a total of 60 points, and the oral exam will carry 10 points.

Students in the 5th grade will take three language exams, mathematics and environment 1 and 2. Students in the 8th grade will take three languages, mathematics, natural sciences and social sciences. The department said schools will set the questionnaire and sample questions will be provided to help teachers prepare the questionnaire.
