School holidays tomorrow in Maharashtra
Maharashtra School Holiday: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced closure of schools on September 29, 2023. The holiday has been declared on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad. The decision was taken considering that Anant Chaturdashi and Eid-e-Milad are celebrated on the same day. Check Maharashtra school holiday updates here
The official tweet reads: ”The state government has declared Friday 29 September as a public holiday on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad. This decision is taken after Anant Chaturdashi and Eid e Milad falling on the same day i.e. tomorrow 28th All India Khilafat Committee has requested CM @mieknathshinde regarding this. The decision on the holiday was made for better management of processions and crowd management.”

Maharashtra School Holidays: Traffic Prevention on Ganpati Visarjan
To prevent disruption and traffic on the roads on the auspicious occasion of Ganpati Visarjan, I, M. Ramkumar, IPS, Addl. The Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Mumbai has issued a notification which reads: “On the occasion of Ganapati Immersion on 28 September 2023, the entry of heavy vehicles on the road in Greater Mumbai will be prohibited from 10.00 am to 6.00 am on the next day am.”
School holidays on September 29: Which services will remain operational?
It should be noted that providers of mandatory services are exempt from the order. That includes:
- Vehicles for vegetables
- Transportation of milk, bread and bakery products by vehicles
- Drinking water tanks (except other water supply tanks)
- Tanks for gasoline, diesel and kerosene
- Emergency,
- Government and semi-government vehicles
Karnataka Bandh school holiday tomorrow
Apart from tomorrow’s school holiday in Maharashtra, Karnataka Bandh is scheduled for 29 September 2023. Schools and colleges are likely to be affected and remain closed tomorrow. But there is no official confirmation of the same.
The Friday Karnataka Bandh was called by pro-Kannada organizations led by the Kannada Chaluvali group as a protest against the release of Cauvery water in Tamil Nadu.
