Mahmoud Chowdhury was born on Thursday, July 28, 1988 (33 years old in 2021) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. His full name is Mahmoud Yunus Chowdhury. Mahmoud received his primary formal education in the city of Abu Dhabi and later moved to the United Kingdom for further studies. He graduated from Durham University in the United Kingdom with a degree in law.

He is the fifth son of Yunus Chowdhury and his wife Suraya Chowdhury. His father, now a real estate billionaire, is from a small town in Lahore, Pakistan. In 1973, Yunus moved to the UAE in search of better life opportunities. Starting with real estate business, Yunus expanded his business empire to various sectors such as transportation, oil and gas.

On November 27, 2020, Mahmood Chaudhry married Bakhtawar Bhutto, daughter of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto Zardari, in a private wedding at the “Bilawal House” in Karachi. On January 29, 2021, the two held a private wedding.

This development led to Bakhtawar Bhutto being criticized by dozens of Pakistanis.
