Maine Mendoza (27) just got engaged to actor and politician Arja Atayde (31). Mendoza took to social media to show off her engagement ring and said, “Wait, what???” “Are we married?!” Atayde also posted a photo of Mendoza on his Instagram profile with the caption “My turn, I’ll marry you baby.”

Maine Mendoza, 27, and Arjo Atayde, 31, first appeared together in the 2018 film Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles. Rumors of the two dating started the same year after they were seen together several times. They went to a Makati restaurant together, dressed up for Halloween at a bar, then went to a Mix 3 show. Mendoza said at a press conference for Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles that she and Atayde were friends.
During the press conference for the movie TOL 2019, Atayde confirmed that he and Mendoza are in a relationship. Mendoza confirmed this in a blog post shortly before her 24th birthday. The couple has since shared numerous beautiful moments on social media. Mendoza also attended a family lunch with Atayde and his mother. In December 2019, the couple celebrated their one year anniversary. In December 2020, they will celebrate their second anniversary with a trip to the beach. The two collaborated on an episode of Daddy’s Gurl. At one time, Mendoza lashed out at everyone who made fun of her partner on social networks.

Atayde is now a member of the 1st Congressional District in Quezon City. He rose to fame for his portrayal of Joaquin Tuazon in ABS-CBN’s action drama series Ang Probinsyano FPJ. He is known for his roles in television series such as Hanggang Saan, The General’s Daughter and Bagman. His mother, Sylvia Sanchez, is also an actress, and his father, Art Atayde, is a businessman. Mendoza, on the other hand, became famous for her Dubsmash videos.
