A police source told Le Parisian that the alleged caller claimed to have planted a bomb in the toilets of Paris Orly Airport in France.

Another source then confirmed to the French publication that Terminals 2 and 3 were affected.

The premises are being evacuated to allow specialist services, such as dog squads, to examine the area, it said.

Footage has emerged on social media showing passengers at Paris Orly evacuating the airport.

It came after another bomb threat caused chaos at Brussels airport in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Passengers were told to “stay where they are” and await further instructions after airport staff were alerted to the suspected threat around midnight.

Brussels police have confirmed that they are investigating the suspected threat.

Police said: “Following a suspicious report, we are fully investigating the situation. We are still busy with all the checks.”

Security agents were reportedly seen patrolling the area carrying automatic weapons.

It is understood that only the departure and baggage claim department is at risk, not the entire airport building.

Chaotic passengers remained stranded inside the airport as they awaited further instructions from the authorities.

Meanwhile, the passengers who had just landed were forced to stay in their craft.

In a later update at around 2am local time, airport bosses confirmed the site had reopened.

Spokesman Ishana Chioua Lekhli told Nieuwsblad: “The checks were negative.”

In July, Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2 was evacuated, leaving tourists furious.

England fans flying to Germany for their Euro quarter-final clash with Switzerland were at risk of missing their flight.

Pictures posted on social media show stranded flyers piled up inside the airport, while other pictures show ambulances.

Some reported waiting almost an hour outside the airport.

A Heathrow spokesman said at the time: “This morning our teams worked with the emergency services to respond to an incident at Terminal 2 which has now been resolved.

“Passengers are asked to check with their airline if flying from Terminal 2, the rest of the airport is operating as normal.”
