Maluma and J Balvin have reunited.
Two Colombian musicians have released their second joint collaboration. On Friday, the two dropped “Gafas Negras,” following their 2019 hit, “Qué pena.”
“Gafas Negras” is part of Maluma’s latest album, DON JUAN. The GLORY The singer’s latest album is also nominated for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Produced by Madmusick and DJ Luian, the new song was written by Maluma, 29, J Balvin, 38, Edgar Barrera, Jhayco, Bifi, DJ Luian and Jonathan Rivera. The song is about two friends enjoying a night at the club while surrounded by the “perreando” dance — known as twerking.

Along with the release of their new track, the collaborators also dropped a music video for the song — directed by César “Tés” Pimienta — which premiered worldwide on MTV’s global network of channels.

As the song ends, Balvin congratulates Maluma on everything he has achieved so far. “I’m so proud of what you did,” Balvin said. “Proud of you because you are tough, you never stop, you push forward and you have become like my little brother.”
On Thursday night, the two musicians shared a joint Instagram post announcing their new project that included a sneak peek at the first few seconds of the music video.

In addition to collaborating on “Gafas Negras” and “Qué Pena” in 2019, the two worked on “X” with Nicky Jam and Ozuna in 2018 and worked with Feida on 2020’s “Porfa Remix.”

Maluma started the year as the most nominated artist in Premio Lo Nuestro. He earned a total of 14 nominations — including nominations for Best Album, Best Song, Best Male Pop Artist of the Year and Premio Lo Nuestro Artist.
