Queen Uniek, a Dutch Friesian, is pregnant with her first child. As soon as she got to the hospital, she knew something was wrong.
She felt nervous about the moment, pursed her lips and strutted around inside her barn. Yvonne, her mother, was standing beside her trying to reassure her.
Uniek gave birth an hour later, and [ve.terin.arians] who helped pull out a pony that wouldn’t eat. They tried their best to revive him, but they were too late. He was not successful.
The mare Hea.rtbro.ken continued to lick her foal, trying to revive it but to no avail. They led the foal out of the stable while Yvonne continued to comfort Uneik.
She knew her beloved horse was in great pain. Then Yvonn and the rest of the Friesian Horses staff received great news…! Her friend called and told her they had an orphaned pony in their care. Yvonne wanted to see if Uniek wanted to adopt the pony as her son.
The first few interactions are highly uncertain. She sniffed the pony, and it sniffed back. She danced a little and she was clearly happy to see the pony in front of her as if she considered it her own.
It was a very special moment. The next day, they find a cute mother-daughter pair at their table, and Uniek becomes extremely protective of her adopted pony. Where you go, she goes. The rising star is always walking side by side with Uniek.
The rising star was the happiest pony she had ever seen. He runs and plays freely like any young animal. Uniek followed right behind me and made sure to keep an eye on her little one.
So glad it ended well for mom and baby! Uniek raised Rising Star and was a loving and protective mother to him. Now he’s having a great year. She is healthy and doing well.
Uniek was a great mare, she was totally awesome with Rising Star, now he’s a jolly guy. She is a beautiful and amazing girl! So happy to have children to take care of. She looks like a great mother.
I’m so glad they were able to reunite this pony with its mother, it seems happy and the child has a mother. Both are very beautiful. Thank you for taking care of these beautiful animals.
