The £100,000 pots were presented to brother Trevor, sister-in-law Pamela and daughter-in-law Sonia.

Eldest son Gary, from his first marriage, was due to receive £250,000 but died last year.

The remainder of his £1,648,000 estate is in trust for his wife and three surviving children.

“Franny” joined City from Bolton in 1967, scoring 148 goals in 330 games and winning the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup.

He then won the First League for a second time with Derby in 1975.

Franny, who was capped 27 times for England, including the 1970 World Cup and scored ten goals, later went on to start a successful toilet roll company and horse racing stable.

His final years were spent battling cancer at his £500,000 home in sleepy Wilmslow, Cheshire.

England legend Alan Shearer paid tribute following his death, posting: “RIP legend”.
