A Massachusetts man bought a $15,000,000 Money Maker lottery ticket, but it was long forgotten in his home and “gathered dust” for months, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery.
It wasn’t until Soussa’s housekeeper found the ticket in the vase that the man realized he had won $1 million in the instant ticket game, lottery officials He said.
The lucky winner, who lives in Medford, chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes, and said he plans to help a friend in need and also donate some of the money to charity, according to the release.

Tony’s Convenience in Medford — where Soussa bought the lottery — will receive a $10,000 bonus for ticket sales, according to lottery officials.
