Mandy Moore Says Son Gus, 2½, Has No Interest in Watching Tangled: ‘It Means Nothing to Him’

Mandy Moore’s older son doesn’t seem impressed with his mom’s status as a Disney character.

During an appearance on Monday The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonactress and singer said that 2 1/2-year-old August “Gus” Harrison is not interested in the fact that she voiced Rapunzel in Intricate.

“He couldn’t care less,” the Dr. death star, 39, told host Jimmy Fallon about her son’s lack of interest in the 2010 animated musical film.

“He’s like, ‘You’re not Lightning McQueen.’ There is none Cars situation,” she continued, noting that Gus prefers the Pixar film series and the protagonist voiced by Owen Wilson.

“I asked him several times. I said, ‘You saw Frozen now — do you want to watch Intricate?’ He says, ‘No,'” Moore said, laughing. ‘It means nothing to him!’

Mandy Moore reunites with ‘close friends’ Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder as she poses with son, 2, at Disneyland

Moore shares Gus, who turns 3 in February, with her husband Taylor Goldsmith, along with their 13-month-old son Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett.

On Thursday, Moore shared a photo on Instagram from her recent trip to the Disney Parks — which originally prompted Fallon’s question, as she held Gus while posing next to Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, the character’s lover (voiced by Zachary Levi).

“Gus doesn’t care about Tangled and really doesn’t care that Mom and Rapunzel are ‘close friends,'” Moore joked in the caption.

“If I knew Lightning McQueen, it would be a different story 🤷‍♀️,” she added. “Thanks for having us @disneyparks — you’re always magical, but seeing the world through Gus’ eyes is a whole new game.”

In her interview with Fallon, 49, on Monday, Moore noted that Rapunzel and the other characters in the Disney parks are “so solid in character” that there wasn’t even a “wink” or any hint that the other princess knew Moore’s connection to the Role.

Earlier in the interview, Moore talked about the upcoming holidays and the traditions she’s established with her sons so far.

“We just moved, so we’re kind of still figuring out what our roots are and solidifying what our traditions are going to be,” This is us said the actress.

One example that comes to mind is when Moore was growing up, she remembers only eating breakfast food on Christmas Eve.

“We had breakfast for dinner on Christmas Eve, so I feel like I’m going to fit it in for us,” she said. “Pancakes, waffles, bagels, eggs, bacon — the whole nine yards. It was so much fun.”
