Maneesh Sharma is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter. He is known for directing the Hindi film Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), starring Parineeti Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput Starring Vaani Kapoor.

In 2006, soon after completing a filmmaking course in California, he moved back to India and made his directorial debut in Bollywood with the film Fanaa; he worked as an assistant director in Hindi films.
Later, Maneesh Sharma worked as an assistant director in two Yash Raj Film Productions, Aaja Nachle (2007) and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008). Manish made his feature film directorial debut in 2010 with the Hindi film Band Bajaa Baaraat; he also served as screenwriter for the film.
In 2013, he directed the Bollywood film Shuddh Desi Romance, starring Parineeti Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput and Vaani Ka Starring Vaani Kapoor. In 2016, he directed the Hindi film “Fan” starring Shah Rukh Khan.
In an interview, Manesh Sharma talked about his film Van (2016) and said that the pre-production of the film started in 2013. He said,

- Maneesh Sharma in an interview talked about his career in Bollywood and said that although several of his films were rejected, he never struggled. He said,

My struggle is that I can’t let Van…now that’s not a struggle! It would be silly of me to say it was a struggle because I had to do three movies while I was waiting to do The Fan. I am grateful. - A fan of Shah Rukh Khan, Manish had been hoping to cast Shah Rukh Khan in one of his films since his graduation from Cal. In an interview, Manish recalled that in 2004, when he was in film school in California, he called Shah Rukh Khan at 1:30 am to pitch him an idea and offer him An opportunity to play a role in his own film. The thing is, it was a very long journey for Shah Rukh Khan to reach Van. Let me tell you a little story. It was 2004 and I was about to graduate from film school.
