Thomas James, also known as Manikutan, was born on Sunday, March 2, 1986 (38 years old in 2024) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His star sign is Pisces. He attended St. Mary’s High School in Paton, Thiruvananthapuram and later obtained a commerce degree from Mahatma Gandhi College, Thiruvananthapuram.

He made his debut as a child actor in the Malayalam film Varnachirakukal in 1999. In 2004, he played the lead role in the campus film Oru Peelekanenta Oormakke, which was produced by his college, Mahatma College, Thiruvananthapuram. He has acted in many Malayalam films, including Boyy Friennd (2005), Black Cat (2007), Hotel California (2013), Mamangam (2019) and Marakkar (2021).
He has also acted in several Malayalam television serials such as Kayamkulam Kochunni (2004), Black and White (2016), and Devi Mahathmyam (2017). In 2021, he participated in the television reality show Bigg Boss Malayalam 3.
In July 2021, he became the winner of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 3.
