Profession
At the age of 14, she ran away from home and started working at Pizza Hut in Mumbai. She used to wash dishes and used the money she earned to continue her studies. She also worked at a call center to pay for her college tuition. In an Instagram post, she wrote about her difficult days, saying:
At 14, I ran away from home. I managed to complete my studies during the day, working as a dishwasher in the evenings and at call centres at night. I walked for hours to get to places to save on rickshaw fares.
She has participated in more than a dozen “Campus Princess” beauty pageants, but failed to make it past the first round. She has also been a model for many well-known fashion shows such as Times Fashion Week and Lakme Fashion Week.

She won the title of Miss India Uttar Pradesh in 2020. She represented Uttar Pradesh at the VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 and was crowned the first runner-up in the pageant.
Among them, Manasa Varanasi from Telangana was crowned VLCC Femina Miss India World 2020 and Manika Sheokand from Haryana was crowned VLCC Femina Miss India 2020.

In 2022, she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 16. However, she was eliminated from the show after a few episodes.

- Her family and friends called her Kajal and Penguin.
- Due to poor financial situation, she was unable to attend grades 3 to 8.
- As a teenager, she started working part-time for Rs 15,000. At 15, she watched the Miss India beauty pageant on television for the first time, after which she decided that one day she would win the crown and make her father proud. At 16, she worked as a dishwasher and in the same year, she scored 80% in class 10.
- According to her interview, in 2020, she faced poverty, domestic violence, and the imposition of a patriarchal culture at a very young age. She also said,
There were nights when I didn’t eat, drink or sleep. There were afternoons when I walked for miles. My blood, sweat and tears were all combined to pursue my dream. As the daughter of a rickshaw driver, I never had the chance to go to school because I started working as a teenager. All my clothes were hand-me-downs. I longed for books but had no luck. In the end, my parents mortgaged all of my mother’s jewelry to ensure that I could pay for the exams to get a degree. My mother suffered a lot to support me.

- In 2022, she bought a house for her parents. In an interview, she shared that her mom thought they would buy a house of their own. In an interview, she said,
My mom used to think that we would never be able to afford a house in Mumbai and that in the future, despite working hard all our lives, we would have to move back to Uttar Pradesh. But my dream is to buy a house in my parents’ names so that they can safely call Mumbai their city. My parents have given me this opportunity and worked very hard to enable me to live well in the city of my dreams, so I want to do my part and gift them a house. Now I can’t wait to decorate our new home and turn it into our sweet paradise. ”
