At the time, Summers — who recently became a grandfather — was open about how his busy schedule sometimes interfered with family time.

“I’m sitting in a hotel room in New York and it’s a bit of a sacrifice. Every night when I’m going to say, ‘Wow, I’m really tired and I miss you guys. I want to come home,” my wife said. “But you’re doing what you’ve always wanted to do,” Summers told PEOPLE. “And it’s true. I can’t complain. But it’s not easy. And is it fun to be on stage for 90 minutes? I like it, but you have to worry about the other 22 and a half hours.”
