Marco Pierre White was born on September 11, 1961 in Leeds, England. He is the third child of British chef Frank White and Marija-Rosa Gallina. White dropped out of Allerton High School, where he studied to cook without a degree. He began training at the St George’s Hotel in Harrogate, then Box Tree in Ilkley.
In 1981, he moved to London and began training as a trustee with Albert and Michel Roux at Le Gavroche. He has trained famous chefs such as Gordon Ramsey and Shannon Bennett. He also collaborated with Mario Batali. However, after seventeen long years of cooking, he realized that his profession did not bring him enough income.
