Maren Morris Joins Mt. Joy Onstage at Sold-Out Madison Square Garden Show to Perform 'Highway Queen' — See the Video!

While Mt. Joy played to a sold-out Madison Square Garden, they invited a special guest to soak up the special moment with them on stage.

The band, consisting of Matt Quinn (guitar and vocals), Sam Cooper (guitar), Michael Byrnes (bass), Sotiris Eliopoulos (drums) and Jackie Miclau (keyboards), stopped in New York on Saturday, 9/28 for their first performance in a cult place.

As they kicked off the second act of their set by performing in front of a sea of light-up bracelets, Quinn asked the crowd to be “really loud” to welcome Maren Morris to the stage to sing their song “Highway Queen.”

While the track was originally released back in March, a new version of the song featuring the “The Bones” singer dropped on September 13 – a collaboration they teased on their Instagrams earlier this month.

“We are so grateful for Maren,” Quinn tells PEOPLE. “She has such an amazing voice and makes that song so much better. Her harmonies live at The Garden brought that song to life like never before. She was really special to us… she’s the best!”

During the show, Quinn called performing in the famous arena a “dream” and thanked her fans for making it come true. After the show, the band shared on Instagram that the experience was “probably the best night of our lives.”

Quinn and Cooper sat down with PEOPLE last year and opened up about being able to pause and take in everything the band has accomplished so far.

“Now it’s kind of like, wow, this has really become a thing,” Quinn said. “And it’s definitely very exciting. It just feels good because I think everyone in this, not just Sam and I, has put so much time and effort and traveling in a van for years and girls who break up with you and all kinds of sacrifices and whatever. See the way it’s working, at least for now, it’s a really good feeling.”
