Maria Vladimirovna Vorontsova was born on Sunday, April 28, 1985 (age 36; as of 2022) in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Soviet Union (now Russia). Maria attended a school in East Germany as a child when her father, Vladimir Putin, was sent to East Germany as a KGB officer. From an early age, Maria showed a fascinating talent for science. In 1991, her family returned to her hometown of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) from East Germany, and she was admitted to Peter Middle School. Due to an increase in gang violence in Leningrad, sisters Maria and Katarina are sent back to Germany by their father.
