SportMediaset claims that the 33-year-old former Manchester City striker allegedly refused a breathalyzer test at the time after crashing his black motorbike into a wall.
According to Italian newspaper Fatto Quotidiano, the former Liverpool ace lost control of his Audi Q8 and crashed it into a wall.
The impact of the crash caused the airbags to deploy as medics rushed to the scene after being called.
Balotelli, who previously dated Belgian model Fanny Neguesha and was recently seen with a gorgeous mystery blonde, managed to climb out of the wreckage and was treated by paramedics after lying on the ground.
Then SportMediaset states that the local police tried to give Balotelli a breathalyzer, but the Italian national team player refused.
The news then states that this led to the police taking Balotelli’s driver’s license away.
The 2012 Premier League winner’s brother, Enock Barwuah, is said to have arrived at the scene of the accident after returning from training with his local football team and then took Balotelli home.

Balotelli, who now plays for Turkey’s Adana Demirspor, has returned home to Italy as he recovers from injury.
The controversial ace recently returned to Turkish Super League side Adana Demirspor after spending the 2021/22 season there.
Balotelli, who recently sold his fleet of supercars including a Ferrari and Lamborghini after losing his passion for them, left City for AC Milan in 2013 but made a surprise return to the Prem a year later with Liverpool.
He struggled to impress at Anfield, scoring just once in 16 games, before returning to Milan on loan.
Balotelli enjoyed a three-year spell at Nice after leaving Liverpool in 2014, making 76 appearances and scoring 43 goals before moving across the French Riviera to rivals Marseille for a season.
It was a short but successful spell with eight goals in 15 appearances but he returned to Italy where he played for Brescia and Monza before heading to Turkey for his first spell at Adana.
He then joined Swiss Super League club Sion for what proved to be a disastrous season, but now appears to be trying to resurrect himself in Turkey.
Balotelli has never been far from the headlines throughout his career for his antics on and off the pitch.

During his time in the City, he infamously set off fireworks in his rented house causing thousands of pounds worth of damage – then days later became the face of a fireworks safety campaign.
Balotelli also started 2020 in typically bumpy fashion after being involved in a car crash at 6am on New Year’s Day.
This time he was in the passenger seat of a silver Fiat 500 Abarth when he crashed into the door of a bakery in northern Brescia.
The player’s friend was driving the vehicle after a New Year’s Eve party at a nightclub when it hit a curb before rolling into a door.
Neither man in the car was injured and Balotelli completed the journey to his home in nearby Mompiano on foot before going to bed.
More recently, footage emerged of Balotelli just weeks after joining Sion stumbling out of a bar in Lausanne with his arms wrapped around a lady in red and another man.
That video quickly went viral and soon made headlines again.
He was absent from training a few days after that, but the club would claim that it was due to bronchitis.

Balotelli allegedly paid a bar owner £1,800 to ride a moped into the sea wearing only his trousers.
In 2019, he is claimed to have paid a man £1,800 to drive his moped over the edge of a marina in Naples before posting footage on Instagram of a crowd gathered to watch the daring stunt.
He later posted a video of trying to start the salvaged moped.
Amazingly, after a few jolts, the engine kicked into gear and was running again.
Balotelli and former City boss Roberto Mancini were also spotted FIGHTING during a training session in front of the cameras back when they were together at the Etihad.
Mancini later described the incident as having been sparked by Gael Clichy’s sharp forward attack.
He said: “I told the players in training not to make stupid attacks on Gael Clichy because he was just coming back from injury. And then Mario slammed him hard. I was furious.
“I grabbed him by the collar, trying to push him, but he is so physically strong that I couldn’t move him.
“When you saw the pictures, you would think we had a fight, but nothing happened.
“He came into conflict with some teammates because of his behavior and wanted to return to Italy.
“I was disappointed that he wanted to leave because he should have done so much more in an outstanding championship.”
