After his father’s death in 2011, Mark and his mother Carol inherited the Las Vegas Raiders. As a group, they own 47 percent of the company. He took over his father’s position and is now the franchise’s general partner and operations manager. Similarly, he is in charge of all day-to-day operations. Davis stated in late February 2015 that the Raiders would be looking to share a stadium in Carson, California with Dean Spanos and the San Diego Chargers. Davis and Spanos’ concept clashed head-on with Rams owner Stan Kroenke and his proposed stadium in Inglewood, and ultimately lost. On March 27, 2017, the National Football League approved the Raiders’ move from Oakland to Las Vegas by a 31-1 vote, guaranteeing them a new stadium in the process.
On January 14, 2021, Davis agreed to purchase the Las Vegas Aces of the Women’s National Basketball Association from MGM Resorts International. The WNBA and NBA approved the purchase on February 12, 2021. Prior to purchasing the Aces, Davis had a season ticket and frequented home games.
The Aces began construction on a training facility in Henderson, near the Raiders’ compound, shortly after Davis bought the franchise. In May 2021, Davis named Nikki Fargas, former head coach of the LSU Lady Tigers basketball team, as team president.
