It came shortly after Georges, 30, hinted that he was not in a relationship after claiming that only single people go to the gym on Valentine’s Day, while he hit the gym.

Peggy said: “I’m so sorry I’ve been quiet on social media but there’s a reason for my silence.

“Me and Georges are no longer together and I am absolutely heartbroken.

“It affected my mental health and it took me weeks to come to terms with it, but with it being Valentine’s Day, I can’t pretend I’m fine.”

She captioned the post by thanking her followers for everything they’ve done for her since becoming famous on Married At First Sight.

Peggy added: “Thank you to everyone who supported us and our journey…

“No one is more upset than me x.”

Earlier today, Georges took to his story to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day.

He said: “Remember… go to the gym, especially if you’re single because everyone else in the gym will be single on Valentine’s Day. You might just find someone.”

He then shared a video of himself walking while saying, “Time to hit the gym because the only person that’s going to do it is me.”

Peggy and Georges met on the E4 show last year.

The former couple tied the knot just moments after walking down the aisle for the first time.

Their split comes just days after they revealed they plan to tie the knot for real.

Georges told Closer magazine: “The plan is to have children.

“Obviously we have to stay together, live together and get engaged.

“She lives at home, I live at mine.

“I’d say move in with me, but there’s so much going on.”

Their path in the show was not easy, nor was it when the show ended.

They were hit with divorce rumors in December when Peggy was out partying with her MAFS colleagues and Georges was nowhere to be seen.

Their co-stars Erica Roberts and Jordan Gayle previously called their relationship ‘fake’.

Jordan told us: “I just don’t believe Peggy and Georges are a couple.

“I didn’t believe them at the time, and I know I’ve said before that editing isn’t always what it seems, but in the case of Peggy and Georges, it seemed right.

“Most people who watched didn’t really understand them. I don’t understand how, as a couple, they always had a million problems, a million different problems, new problems every week, and yet they were happy enough to stay with each other.

“Surely, if you had so many problems as a couple, surely you wouldn’t be happy?

“But the reason I feel like they were able to get through it and be happy is because they didn’t really care, so it’s not really a problem.”
