Martha Stewart, 82, Brings the Glamour to the SI Swimsuit 60th Anniversary Party

Martha Stewart brought all the glitz and glamor to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit red carpet.

On May 16, all eyes were on the mogul of a lifetime as she celebrated the magazine’s 60th anniversary at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York.

Stewart stunned on the red carpet, wearing golden shades.

The 82-year-old businesswoman wore a short-sleeved, loose-fitting crochet dress with tassels over an ankle-length champagne silk dress. She wore gold open-toed heels to the event.

Stewart kept her look elegant with a long beaded necklace reminiscent of pearls. The item was layered and she wore matching colored earrings and bracelets on each wrist.

The host of the podcast became a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit star in May 2023, when she debuted on the cover. Last year’s roster also included Megan Fox, Kim Petras and Brooks Nader.

Stewart, who modeled plunging swimwear and covers for the issue, made history as the oldest woman to front the publication. Maye Musk, Elon Musk’s mother, previously held the title after appearing on the 2022 cover at age 74.

“It’s important to face challenges, whether they’re beauty challenges or intellectual challenges, even philanthropic challenges,” Stewart told PEOPLE before her video was unveiled. “To be able to get up and do that – for me – is so much fun! And this is to achieve something that not everyone would achieve.”

Stewart returned to the set earlier this year to film Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’60th Anniversary Legends cover (there are three collector’s versions in total). Musk, now 76, Christie Brinkley, 70, Paulina Porizkova, 59, Tyra Banks, 50, and Gayle King, who preceded her first SI Swimsuit issue at 69 this year, do models 50 and older wear dresses on a shoot with the stars.

Veteran models Kate Upton, Chrissy Teigen and Hunter McGrady are also 2024 cover stars, while Brittany Mahomes and Xandra Pohl are among the newbies.

“They are all great girls!” Stewart told PEOPLE about the major moment in April, teasing the official unveiling that took place this week. “I mean, Christie Brinkley and Tyra Banks and all of them. Fantastic. And I look just as good as them, which was even better. Just kidding, of course.”
