Martha Stewart, 82, Shares a New Thirst Trap: 'Didn't Look So Bad When I Got Up'

Martha Stewart has made a habit of sharing seductive selfies on Instagram in the years since her pool selfie went viral in July 2020

Martha Stewart is back in the thirst trap game.

Stewart, 82, took to her Instagram on Friday morning to share a steamy bathroom mirror selfie that replicated her steamy pool selfie from July 2020. The new shot shows the lifestyle guru posing in a silver nightgown.

“After an 8 hour plane ride from Westchester to Palm Beach – horrible by the way – we went to bed early and put on my beautiful @sabbiarosa nightgown (sheets with robe),” she captioned the post. “I didn’t look too bad when I got up, at least not as bad as when I went to bed – that must be the $$$$$outfit!!”

Stewart gained significant attention with her Instagram post in July 2020. So much so that she revealed during a TV appearance in April 2021 The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she received “so many offers and so many offers” in the weeks after the video went viral.

Since then, the television personality has grown into an expert in thirst hunting. In February 2022, she gave social media followers tips on taking selfies in a TikTok campaign for the cosmetics brand Clé de Peau Beauté. Advice included the recommendation to “design awesome” during photo shoots as well as advertisements for the brand’s products.

Stewart’s poolside selfie remains an unforgettable pop culture moment more than three years later, though she admitted to PEOPLE in November 2020 that she took the photo by mistake.

“I was trying to take a picture of the beautiful turquoise planter at the end of the pool, but the camera was pointed at me, so I just took it,” she said at the time. “It looked so good, so I posted it. I didn’t know what a ‘thirst trap’ was, but now I do. Now I’m looking for the next thirst trap. I like doing these promiscuous, provocative things, because it’s just fun.”

When Stewart recently spoke with PEOPLE this summer, she said, “Who knows?” when asked if he will share a new thirst trap soon. A few days later, she posted a similarly sultry selfie from the pool at the Castello di Reschio hotel in Italy.

“#castellodireschio is a 13th century castle that a very creative couple has converted into a special resort of exceptional quality,” she captioned the post. “The heated pool in the stone tower was the perfect place for a new selfie! dark. Candle lit. Mysteriously. Relaxation before a massage and wash before the 70th birthday of the founder @brunellocucinelli_brand in Solome.”
