Martin Short did Saturday night live history!
During the Dec. 21 episode of the late-night sketch comedy series, the actor, 74, was inducted into the Five-Timers Club — an elusive group of celebrities who have hosted SNL at least 5 times.
During the show’s opening, Short was feted by his fellow members of the five-legged club, including Tom Hanks, Paul Rudd, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Kristen Wiig, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, John Mulaney and Jimmy Fallon.
After each star celebrated Short – and made various jokes – Fallon (50) appeared and introduced Just the murders in the building star with a token to celebrate your latest achievement.
“I want to present to you the official five-point club jacket, exactly in your size, women’s small,” the late-night host teased him.

Elsewhere during the series, Short participated in various sketches, including one in which he played a man who gets into an argument in a parking lot and another in which he played an airport employee reporting on passengers during Christmas week.
In another sketch, he played a criticizing drama teacher A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Hozier, meanwhile, was the evening’s musical guest, returning to the Studio 8H stage for the first time in over a decade. The musician last appeared on SNL in October 2014
He first performed “Too Sweet” from his EP Unheard ofbefore later returning to sing “Fairytale of New York”.

SNL announced the cast for its landmark 50th season earlier this year.
Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim and Jane Wickline have been added to the sketch comedy roster, while Punkie Johnson, Chloe Troast and Molly Kearney have stepped down. Returning cast members Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker, meanwhile, have been promoted to lead actors after two years each as standout players.
Michael Che, Colin Jost, James Austin Johnson, Bowen Yang, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman and Kenan Thompson round out the rest of the cast.
SNLThe next episode, the first in 2025, is scheduled to air on January 18.
