Marvel Comics has revealed clues about the publisher’s upcoming titles Guardians of the Galaxyy series, hinting at a new storyline “Grootfall.” Previous trailers from the comic have suggested that the Guardians have fractured in some way, and as the name of this arc suggests, something terrible may have happened to Groot. Marvel’s latest reports on the series reveal that the team is getting new costumes, with Star-Lord and four other heroes also getting new costumes, adding even more intrigue to what’s to come.
Guardians of the Galaxy’s new costumes hint team is falling apart
The five characters selected show the current status Guardians of the Galaxy In Marvel Comics. The team played a major role in Al Ewing and Juan Cabal’s recent series while protecting the galaxy as the Galactic Council. However, the image only shows five members wearing new costumes. Gun-wielding Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, and Nebula wear lower-tech costumes that blend Western and original details. The Mantis looks completely different than usual, appearing to have a giant robotic arm – or at least a giant glove.
Even with the new costumes, Marvel Comics seems to be trying to make the “Grootfall” team more consistent with the MCU version of Guardians of the Galaxy, as all five heroes in the image will appear in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. “middle. Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Meanwhile, characters like Nova, Moondragon and Quasar – none of whom appear in the live-action version and were part of the final team – are nowhere to be seen.
The question remains, where are Rocket Raccoon and Groot?
