She worked as a national security reporter for NPR News for many years and has maintained that focus in her anchor role. That means traveling with All Things Considered to countries like Russia and North Korea. (including live coverage from Helsinki, for the infamous Trump-Putin summit).

Kelly, a native of Georgia, spent his first job as a political reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution pounding the pavement.
