The 60-year-old presenter has stepped down from his role as a judge on MasterChef after an investigation into alleged “sexual comments”.
The BBC revealed that 13 people, including Newsnight presenter Kirsty Walk, had accused him of “inappropriate behaviour” over 17 years on five shows, from 2005 to 2022 – allegations Wallace denies.
Now MasterChef producer Banijay UK has announced that law firm Lewis Silkin has been appointed to lead an investigation into his alleged misconduct.
A spokesperson for Banijay UK said: “Lewis Silkin is a major City law firm with a highly experienced specialist investigations team that has overseen a wide range of high profile workplace investigations.
“Banijay UK was impressed by the firm’s rigorous, in-depth and unbiased analysis and reporting.”
They said anyone wishing to raise further concerns can contact the investigative team at [email protected].
The spokesman added: “All information will be handled sensitively and the names of those providing evidence to the team will be kept confidential.”
Banijay UK said earlier this week that Wallace was “committed to cooperating fully throughout the process”.
The Sun first reported on Wallace’s behavior last month.
He resigned on Thursday as allegations of misconduct are investigated, with singer Sir Rod Stewart accusing him of humiliating his wife Penny on the show.
Sun was told he had little choice but to step down pending the outcome of the investigation.
A source told The Sun: “He had to jump before he was pushed.
“There is no way he could continue working on the show while the investigation is ongoing.
“Gregg knew it was the right thing to do – there was no way.”
A clip from his time on Strictly Come Dancing fueled the controversy further.
The clip, which aired in 2014, shows Gregg, then 50, rehearsing with his dance partner Aliona Vilani, 30, making the startling confession about his attire.

Among them are claims that Gregg held the MasterChef co-star by the head and pushed himself against her while she knelt in front of him and cleaned the mark from his pants.
He has also been accused of faking a sex act in front of horrified colleagues as he faces a new wave of allegations.
The presenter, 60, previously thanked people for their “shown support” in a video posted to his Instagram on Thursday night.
In an Instagram video, Gregg said: “I’d like to thank all the people who reached out, reached out and showed support.
“Very nice of you, thank you very much.”
Yesterday, The Sun revealed that a former contestant claimed the TV star groped her while cooking on the set of the show while the cameras were rolling.
She stepped back and said he later yelled “You stupid cow” when she burned her hand.
The woman, who asked not to be named, said she let Wallace know she was disgusted but “had her card marked” so she didn’t take it as a joke.
Another woman claims Wallace told her in a busy pub that she turned him on, made more lewd comments and squeezed his bum.
In a third accusation, Celebrity MasterChef contestant Emma Kennedy yesterday claimed she saw co-host Wallace grope a cameraman during a taping for the 2012 finalists.
And a former employee claimed he made offensive Asian remarks on set in 2017.
