Matt Bomer and his husband have a special plan in mind this Valentine’s Day.
While speaking exclusively with PEOPLE earlier this week at SCAD TVFest in Atlanta, Georgia, Companions star, 46, also revealed how he will celebrate the holidays with his long-term love, Simon Halls.
“We’re going to try to get out of town, which we haven’t been able to do together for a very long time because, luckily, we’ve been doing all kinds of things,” Bomer says, talking about his busy schedule.
“We’re going to have a nice moment together out of town, which will be a great way to reconnect amidst all the hustle and bustle that’s been going on,” she continues.
When asked to specify exactly what the couple’s celebrations will include, Bomer — who won The Hollywood Reporter‘s trailblazer award at the festival — adds, “It’s a favorite beach spot that we like. It’s simple, it’s not too far from the kids. We have three teenagers now, so you don’t want to wander too far from home.”

Bomer has been married to Halls since 2011. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony with only their “nearest and dearest” in attendance. American Horror Story the actor previously told PEOPLE.
However, the couple didn’t go public with their union until 2014, when Bomer revealed the news in a magazine issue details.
Bomer and Halls, a top Hollywood publicist, have three sons – Kit, born in 2005, and twins Henry and Walker, born in 2008.

Back in 2016, Bomer told PEOPLE that he and Halls are taking their relationship “one day at a time” and drawing inspiration from his grandparents’ love.
“[My grandparents] They just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary, so I always look at them and see how they express their love for each other every day and I try to follow that,” he said at the time. “They set a pretty good model for me to follow.”
