In April 2023, James spoke with PEOPLE about breaking down barriers in men’s wellness alongside grooming brand Every Man Jack, a men’s personal care brand. In the interview, he shared his skincare secrets, including how he developed a self-care routine.
“I was with my roommate, Tyler, at the time [Cameron]. He was always at the peak of grooming and personal care. That was my first introduction,” he told PEOPLE.
James wholeheartedly supports the brand’s sustainable efforts and carefully considered ingredients, most of which are vegan. “The fact that they’re aware of the use of the materials they’re using is important to me, and I think it’s important to a lot of people.”
Additionally, James added, “I’m always looking for things that can simplify my life, and that’s what Every Man Jack was [for me].”
However, it is not only about him. The athlete and author also wants to break down stigmas related to men’s well-being.
“Just because someone who doesn’t look like you is doing it doesn’t mean it’s not beneficial for you,” he said. “Keep an open mind. It helps to put it out there for others to see.”
