Matt James Is a Proud Son as He Roots for Mom Patty Ahead of Her ‘Golden Bachelor’ Journey

With 70-year-old Patty James preparing to compete in the first season The Golden Bachelorreacted the 31-year-old reality star to the news that his mother became one of the 22 ladies fighting for Gerry Turner’s heart.

“i ccc uuu mom,” he wrote alongside a photo of Patty’s headshot posted to his Instagram Story. He added a heart on fire emoji as he shared his excitement about her new opportunity to find love.

In her own Instagram post, the retired real estate professional shared several screenshots of promotional material for the upcoming season.

“Very exciting…” she teased in the caption.

Matt also showed more love in the comments section and left a string of flaming heart emojis.

His girlfriend, Rachael Kirkconnell – whom he met during his season Bachelor – showed her support for Patty and wrote, “she’s ready to find love ♥️♥️.”

Earlier this month, the new Golden Bachelor revealed he’s holding out hope for another shot at love in a teaser ahead of the upcoming season.

“I want to fall in love, I really want to find my person who can put me in my place when I need it and make me smile,” explained Gerry. “The person who can lie next to you at night doesn’t have to say anything and you feel it. This is Love. That’s what I want and I know that person is out there.”

In another promotional clip, Gerry shared a little insight into some of the characteristics he would like to find in a potential partner.

“I think, ‘What are the characteristics I’m looking for?’ How do you like to spend your free time? Do you like adventure? Do you like to cook?'” he said. “I want to find that one person that I know is the one. I know that you always wanted me to be happy and that there is one person who will make that happen.”

While Gerry’s verdict on Patty remains to be seen, Matt has expressed his adoration for his mom on numerous occasions.

During the interview with Good morning America 2021 said his mom has some of the same attributes he ultimately wants in a woman.

“Just someone with whom you can experience life together. Someone who is trustworthy, someone who is himself, someone who is caring, honest, compassionate,” he said at the time.
