Matt Roloff Reveals X-Rated Renters May Have Filmed ‘Dirty, Obscene Stuff’ at Family Farm

Matt Roloff is considering stricter rules for his guests at Roloff Farms after an unexpected scenario with recent renters.

During the 25th season premiere of the film Little people, big world on Tuesday, Roloff shares a farm update with his fiancee Caryn Chandler after returning from a visit to Arizona. He discovers that the landlords have been “filming” things on the property – and he’s not sure what exactly.

“We’re tightening the rules on what people can do,” Roloff tells his fiancee. “You can’t come here and make a porn video or something like that. I mean, that’s what it came down to.”

Laughing, Chandler asks how he knows what kind of videos they’re making.

“Well we wouldn’t,” Roloff replies, “but it would come up and someone would say, ‘isn’t that Roloff’s living room?'”

In the confessional, he adds: “People were filming, and we didn’t know if they were filming dirty, obscene things.”

Roloff first announced his plans to turn the north side of his Oregon farm, known as “the big house,” into a short-term rental in October 2022 after initially putting it up for sale in May of that year.

“The short-term rental concept was very, very good. We are filled almost solidly,” he says at the season premiere. “I would say my ultimate goal would still be to sell the north side, but right now I’m going to lease this short-term while the economy is kind of questionable.”

He then tells Chandler that in addition to hosting X-rated potential renters, he has problems with the other guests at the farm.

“You like to think when you do these short-term rentals that you’re just going to have these cute little families. Grandma and the kids,” Chandler says, to which she quips, “Like a Roloff reunion.”

He continues: “We’ve had it once, but out of the 20 or 30 we’ve had so far — every scenario is different. One group will come and it will be wonderful, but there are other times when people try to clean wine glasses down the dumpster, so we’ve had glass shards in the dumpster — that’s been interesting. There was a line for the pool in the wall.”

“I don’t even know how to comment on that,” she says.

Appearing a little confused by her reaction, Matt explains that it’s “too complicated” to leave the farm to any of their four children – twins Zach and Jeremy, 33, daughter Molly, 30, and second son Jacob, 27, especially amid a growing rift with Zach who was a detail in the last season of the series.

Season 25 of Little people, big world premieres Tuesday, February 20 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on TLC, MAX and Discovery+.
