Mattel fans now have another place to have fun like Barbie all day long!
On Wednesday, the company announced that a second Mattel Adventure Park is in the works to be located outside of Kansas City in Bonner Springs, Kansas. The official opening is scheduled for 2026, and construction will begin later in 2024, Mattel said in a statement.
In partnership with Epic Resort Destinations, the new park will offer similar attractions to its Glendale, Arizona location, which was announced in August 2023. Thrill-seekers can look forward to Hot Wheels-inspired roller coasters such as Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride and Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer, while younger park visitors can enjoy the Thomas & Friends themed world of Sodor.
The long-awaited Barbie Beach House will also take shape in the new park, just like the Arizona location, along with the Barbie Dream Closet Experience where visitors can pick out the perfect Barbie-approved outfit.

In addition to watching their favorite characters come to life, park guests can play a game of mini golf inspired by nostalgic Mattel games such as Magic 8 Ball and Pictionary.
Fans can also step into the iconic Castle Grayskull from Masters of the Universe and show off their competitive side with a game of laser tag.

“Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will bring our iconic brands to life with epic roller coasters, family-friendly attractions, an immersive theater, themed restaurants and more,” said Josh Silverman, director of franchising at Mattel.
Silverman continues, “We are thrilled to expand these themed entertainment destinations and invite new fans to experience the world of Mattel in entirely new ways while creating lasting memories with loved ones.”

Mattel’s first Adventure Park was announced in August 2023 and is slated to open in 2024. Fans can view the construction progress of the nine-acre site on the theme park’s website.
