A devoted husband and father died late Wednesday night after his car crashed into a tree, authorities said. Middletown Police have named the victim of the crash as 30-year-old Matthew Le Clair. According to police, officers were called to a crash at Atkins Street and Timber Ridge Road. Le Clair was found driving a 2015 Infiniti Q50 SUV that had “heavy damage,” according to a news release from the department. Infinity appears to have veered off the road for unknown reasons before hitting the tree. Le Clair was rescued from the car by firefighters, but died there, police said.

The accident is still under investigation. Matt’s beloved wife was Jessica Noel LeClair, a clinical oncology chemist at Smilow Cancer Hospital. Irene (Saam) and Joseph LeClair welcomed Matthew LeClair into the world on February 23, 1993 in Waterbury, Connecticut.
