Maya, born to Brian Timmons and Maureen Brady, comes from a different race. After her parents divorced when Maya was nine, she was mostly raised by her mother, Maureen. Her mother serves as her primary source of motivation. Maya Ann Brady-Timmons is a great American college softball player for the UCLA Bruins. Maya attended Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California before beginning her college career. She was a middle player.
Later, Maya made her impact at UCLA, where her brilliance was immediately apparent upon her debut in 2020. Her accomplishments grew, including being named Pac-12 Player of the Year in 2023 and making the WCWS All-Tournament Team in 2022. Maya also received various accolades, including being named a two-time First Team All-American in 2021 and 2023, as well as two First Team All-Pac 12 honors in the same year. She was also named to the 2021 Pac-12 All-Freshman team in recognition of her outstanding performance.

Maya Ann Brady-Timmons was born on June 1, 2001 in San Mateo, California. Her parents, Brian Timmons and Maureen Brady, are also involved in athletics. Similarly, she has a broad racial heritage. Her father is black, but her mother is white. Her racial background has not affected her professional trajectory and she is still enthusiastic about her chosen calling.
Brian is an attorney and global head of complex litigation at Quinn Emanuel, while Maureen works as a nurse and softball coach in Bakersfield, California. Despite their divorce in 2010, when Maya was nine, Maureen bravely raised Maya and her younger sister Hannah as a single mother while juggling her professional commitments. The family now lives in Bakersfield, where Hannah, like Maya, is enthusiastically involved in sports, especially as a Sunshine VBC volleyball player.
Maya credits her mother for nurturing her love for softball, which she showed in 2020. Maya’s family also includes her uncle, NFL legend Tom Brady, who previously played quarterback for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Passion, commitment and the pursuit of excellence
Maya’s choice to attend UCLA was motivated by the university’s long history of success, supportive coaching staff and team spirit. Among the many benefits of softball, Maya values the relationships she has made and the lasting friendships she has developed. Among her loves are the movie “Pocahontas”, the artist Beyoncé and professional athletes Amanda Lorenz (softball) and Tom Brady.
The highlight of her track and field career was playing six straight games at the state meet that lasted more than 15 hours. Maya admires the constant dedication and winning attitude of tennis star Serena Williams. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in John Wooden’s transformative coaching and leadership program for education.
