Meera Vijay Antony committed suicide on September 19, 2023. She was found hanging by a scarf from a ceiling fan at her home in Chennai at 3 am. She was immediately rushed to Kaveri Hospital where she was declared dead. She reportedly suffers from depression and is receiving treatment.
